Why JetBlue is My Favorite Airline (and Should Be Yours Too)

I love traveling. Ever since I was little, I was mesmerized that an airplane could take you to so many different places. I loved flying so much that I wanted to be a flight attendant because I wanted “to travel the world.” Now that I’m all grown up, I still want to travel… travel with my family, discover new places, travel with my husband for some great romantic getaways, travel to conferences… Some people don’t like flying. I love flying. I’m so used to it that I can fall asleep before take-off. But with all the traveling and all the airlines I have taken, I can tell you that not all airlines are equal. Ever since I discovered JetBlue , it has become my favorite airline. Here’s why.

Let’s start with the obvious:

Free checked bag. When you’re a blogger and you attend conferences, or when you travel with kids, you may have a difficult time traveling light… I mean, blogger conferences require outfit options and shoes, and when you travel with kids, you need STUFF. So not having to worry about stuffing everything into one carry-on is very helpful. Also, when you have lots of swag to bring back home, having the option of checking a bag is super useful (and eliminates stress!)

Free Wifi: For a blogger, this is priceless– you can get so much work done! Same goes if you’re traveling for work! But even if you’re not a blogger, having the ability to be online when you’re thousands of feet in the air is remarkable… and it’s FREE!

Free snacks: Free water, free snacks, free drinks. If you want to purchase snacks, and you have the Amex JetBlue card, everything is half off. Speaking of the JetBlue Card, that brings me to my next point:

Points that don’t expire: TrueBlue points are awesome. I managed to take my son and my mom to NicheParent in 2014 thanks to my Amex JetBlue card and the True Blue points I had earned. The trick of course, is that you have to know how to manage the card (i.e. pay in full at the end of the month!) if you can do that, then it is absolutely worth it. Points do not expire and are transferable! (Note: This is not a sponsored post, I really do think this is a great card!)

Affordable with no hidden fees: Once, I tried to “save money” and booked my husband on a “cheaper” flight. But guess what? That flight had so many hidden charges! It ended up being so expensive. They were charging for carry on luggage, even for printing a boarding pass at the airport! With JetBlue, you know exactly what you are getting, no hidden fees, no added anything.

Most importantly:  JetBlue RESPECTS ITS CUSTOMERS!

Last week I attended Hispanicize in Miami. The event is a weeklong gathering of digital influencers, PR representatives, brands and all the movers and shakers of social media. There was a lot of talk of customer service and the importance of brands going back to that genuine relationship where the customer really matters. Ted Rubin,  a relationship builder and social media expert who is famous for #RonR (Return on Relationship) mentioned JetBlue in his comments. I couldn’t agree more and this is the reason why I love JetBlue the most.

Even if JetBlue didn’t give me free snacks, what matters the most to me, what is most meaningful, is that I’ve always felt like I was treated with respect, like a human being. I’ve had the opposite experience while traveling with my infant son, a total lack of care and lack of respect on the part of airline staff and I can tell you that it SUCKS. You feel belittled and humiliated. You want to cry because there is nothing you can do. I’ve had to travel with my son in those conditions and I hope to never have that kind of experience again. That is the number one reason I fly JetBlue whenever I have the option. I feel that they care. I feel like I am not  just the dollars I paid for the plane ticket. Feeling respected and valued is priceless… that is the number one reason why I fly JetBlue… and you should  too.
