Tips for Fun Couple Time at Disney Parks

Disney World isn’t exactly the place where you would think of going for some couple time, right? But really, Disney is a GREAT place for some couple time and we just had a spectacular time at Disney’s Coronado Resort last month!

Here are some of our tips and highlights of our couple time at Disney World:

Stay at a Disney Resort. Why? Here are some reasons:

– Because Disney Cast members go out of their way to make your stay magical and memorable. They go out of their way to make the trip as hassle free as possible and to fulfill your requests.

Need a razor? They will bring one to your room.
Hate the hassle of your dragging your luggage to the airport? You can check in at your resort for participating flights; and of course,
there’s the Disney Magical Express which means you don’t have to worry about parking your car, renting a car or figuring out where to go when you get to the airport. It’s super convenient.
– Restaurants and spas: There are many options all over the resorts! Couple massages, anyone?

We stayed at Coronado Springs, but there are other beautiful hotels where you can stay. (On my bucket list? Staying at Animal Kingdom with a savanna view, overlooking the animals!)

Pick a good time to go.First, you want to avoid the school crowds, so planning a weekday trip I think is much better, as well as avoiding school vacation times. The Underground Tourist has a list of best (and worst) times to go to Disney.

Find a special event or time for you to go, depending on what you both love:

When planning your couple trip to Disney, find something that you make the trip extra memorable for you both. In our case, my husband is a total foodie, so we went to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival and boy, were we not disappointed!

Other great times to go:

For Runners and Star War lovers: The Star Wars Half Marathon

For Spring lovers: The Epcot International Garden and Flower Festival

Get a park hopper and plan the must-do rides at all the parks. My husband is a thrill lover so I tried to find the rides that I knew would blow his mind. The first one he checked out was in Animal Kingdom, on Expedition Everest.

Note: Since I am expecting, I wasn’t able to get on this ride, but that’s totally fine because with the FastPass, he was able to get on and I waited and took pictures of the beautiful Asian decor while I was waiting, I mean– check it out:

Don’t skip Epcot!

Did you always wonder what EPCOT stands for? I did, so I looked it up! It means “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow” that explains why there has always been futuristic vibe at EPCOT. I loved SOARIN’ which uses virtual reality to take you through the world… it is amazing!

Epcot’s World Showcase is by far one of the best places to go when you’re one a couple trip at Walt Disney World!

You can escape to Morocco (my favorite!)

We ate our hearts out during the Food and Wine Festival:

Our favorite booth was South Korea!

Make sure to check out Disney Springs!

You can eat, shop (Sephora! MAC! Zara! and more!), go bowling and take a hot air balloon ride! Of course, there is transportation from the hotels!

Take a lot of selfies! I realized something a while back when I was looking through old pictures of us, we basically stopped taking pics when life got busy (i.e. when we became parents!) which coincided with the time when “selfies” became a thing. I loved that we were able to experience the park without our son, because the experience was totally different, and we were able to just be a couple and not worry about our son’s needs while we were having fun at the park!

Our first selfie, in Asia (Animal Kingdom):

Another selfie at the most magical place on Earth: Magic Kingdom!

Our last selfie: After park hopping all day, we were pooped, but HAPPY! It’s good to feel like kids again, right?
