Goodbye 2014… It’s Been a Great Year!

Goodbye 2014! 2014 is ending today and overall it’s been a great year. Last year we welcomed 2014 in Casablanca, Morocco with great friends and this year we are welcoming 2015 with great family and friends in NYC.

Here are some highlights:

LadydeeLG moved to WordPress! Yes my little blog took the big leap and joined the WP world. A special thanks to Sili Recio from Mommyhood Media who designed it. She did a fabulous job, don’t cha think?

I’m a Shot@Life Champion: This year I was chosen to be a Shot@Life Champion to help spread the word about how important access to vaccines are for children all over the world. Read all about Shot@life here.

You can apply to be a 2015 Shot@life Champion until January 9th!

I joined the Hispana Global team: This year I became the NY correspondant for Hispana Global, a bilingual site for beauty, parenting and more. Check it out!

I’m delighted to be a Spanglish Mami! About six months ago, I was invited to be part of the BabyCenter bicultural mamis blog, Spanglish Mamis! You can read about my bicultural parenting adventures every Thursday! (and if you need to catch up, click to read all my old posts!)

I traveled to Ecuador with my family! We traveled to Ecuador for my cousin’s wedding and it was great to travel, go whale watching and more. The trip helped my little one make tremendous progress in his Spanish language learning! Read all about traveling to one’s heritage country with your kids here.

This year I attended two awesome conferences where I learned a lot and made some great people: NicheParent at the happiest place on Earth (Disney of course.) and Hispanicize in Miami.

I was awarded the MomsRising’s Good Food Force Blogger Award: MomsRising honored some of their bloggers earlier this year and I was lucky to be one of them for my writing and social media advocacy in favor of healthy food for kids! I’m hoping that there will be more wins that will get reduce our children’s exposure to bad quality food (including GMOs, additives, hormones and fake stuff.)

Talking about Grandfamilies on NPR: My dad and I were invited to chat with NPR’s Steve Inskeep and Jennifer Ludden about our multigenerational home. It was super fun to do a radio interview and extra special to do it with my dad. You can listen to our interview here.

Looking forward to an awesome 2015… tell me, what do you want to see on LadydeeLG this coming year? Leave your comments below!
