#FrenchFridays: Mille-feuille, an Organic French Bakery in the Village

mille_feuilleMille-feuille, an organic French bakery in the Village, is a place where your senses will be awakened. I mean, the sites of the freshly baked pastries, baguettes and croissants… the smell of the coffee, the sounds of the French staff, the calm atmosphere. This little gem is perfect for some breakfast, lunch or an afternoon snack. (Ok, really, any time is a good time to stop by!)  Mille-feuille uses the best ingredients (organic flour, chocolate, butter, etc!) which is one of the reasons I love it so much.

Of course, they have what you’d expect at a French bakery- delicious organic croissants, pains au chocolat, baguettes, pastries and even macarons. The croissants are absolutely delicious. They also have coffee and in the summer, refreshments like raspberry lemonade. For lunch, you can have quiches or sandwiches. I often pick up some baguettes to take home. We love them in our home.

I love the story of Mille-feuille, a Frenchman who was a software engineer and decided one day to pursue his passion: baking. He came from Paris and opened up the small shop in the Village. Today, it has grown to three different locations! (The two other locations are on the UWS).

Mille-feuille also has baking classes! You can learn how to make croissants, macarons and eclairs! They even make cakes and cater for special occasions.

So next step you’re in the Village and you’re looking for a place to have a cup of coffee or grab a pastry, try Mille-feuille located on 552 Laguardia Place. You can grab your goodies and head over to Washington Square Park or have a seat inside. Mille-feuille guarantees that you’re eating products made with good quality ingredients, which to me is so important.

You can also check out the other locations on the UWS.
