#FrenchFridays: 5 French Movies to Check out on Netflix

Ahhh the summer is over, the days are getting shorter (and colder here in NYC!) … the opportunities to go out on date night might diminish… but fear not! As one of my posts earlier this week  mentioned, watching a foreign movie is a great date night experience, and thanks to Netflix, you can do it from the comfort of your own home! (NO, they didn’t pay me to say this, in case you’re wondering!)

So today’s edition of  #FrenchFridays brings you 5 French movies to check out on Netflix.

1. The Women on the 6th Floor – Les femmes du 6e étage –

The women on the sixth floor are the Spanish maids… and this boss is very curious about their lives.

2. The Intouchables – Les Intouchables

Based on a true story, about an unlikely friendship between a quadriplegic man and a young man from the inner city who is hired to be his helper.

3. Haute Cuisine

Also based on a true story, if you love food, you will enjoy this movie, about the woman who gets hired to cook for the Président de la Republique.

4. The Chorus – Les Choristes

Les Choristes may be one day  considered a French classic… watch how music unites this grumpy teacher to these young kids.

5. The Secret – Le Secret

Based on Philippe Grimbert’s autobiographical book, the Secret is a movie set in WWII France and unfolds the secrets in a family. I can’t tell you more without ruining it. (But you might most definitely will need tissues.)
