Dora and Friends DVD Review and Toy Giveaway!

Editor’s note: In order to facilitate this review, a copy of Dora and Friends DVD was provided. However, all opinions are my own.

Have you heard the news? Dora is all grown up! Yes, little Dora is all grown up and has a band of great friends — Kate, Naiya, Emma, Alana and Pablo– and together they are setting out for new adventures in the city. I had a chance to review  Dora and Friends DVD (which is available for sale today!)

I’m thrilled to be reviewing this DVD because it has a great feature, especially for moms raising bilingual kids: Dora and Friends features a Spanish track, so Dora and her friends can help your kids practice their Spanish skills.

DoraAndFrnds_DVD_3D LOHere is what I love about the Dora and Friends DVD:

  • Kids can learn new vocabulary in Spanish: The Spanish track on Dora and Friends means kids will learn new words and increase their Spanish language vocabulary.
  • The plots thicken:  Just like Dora has grown up, my son is growing up. Dora and Friends’ plots are more in line with my son’s curious mind at this age. I love the problem solving skills that are put to use as Dora and her friends explore and work together to solve problems.
  • Kids learn about teamwork: Dora and her friends have to work together to accomplish their goal.
  • Música/Music: Music is a big part of the story lines, and I love that. It gets kids dancing, moving, and singing.
  • Focus on Latino culture: Dora and her friends explore the richness of Hispanic culture in a much deeper way than Dora did when she was little.
  • Dora’s friends are of all colors: I love that Dora’s friends are diverse, which reflects today’s society.
