Cooking with Kids: Easy and Yummy Pancakes

One of my son’s favorite foods is pancakes. Pancakes are easy to make and versatile– I firmly believe they don’t only have to be for breakfast– they can be for lunch or dinner! Breakfast items for dinner are surely a hit!

I’m no expert cook, but cooking is something that I’ve always enjoyed with my son. As a working mom, it’s one of the things we can do together after I get home from work, for example. It’s a great bonding moment for us. I also find that there is a lot kids can learn from cooking!

There are many age appropriate tasks they can do in the kitchen and by this point, my son is an expert at things like cracking eggs, whisking, mixing and measuring! One of our favorite things to make are pancakes–they are easy to make and delicious!

I use Martha’s Stewart’s basic pancake recipe.

At almost 5, my son is able to pretty much do every single step in this recipe, with the exception of actually cooking and flipping them!
