I‘m always looking for creative and fun ways to engage my son and practice his language skills. So when I received a box full of bubble bath goodies from Johnson & Johnson I realized that bath time would be a great time to practice language skills. As a working mom, bath time is also a special time because after a long day at work, it’s a time when we can really bond.
Now that my son is recognizing letters and numbers, we can practice letter and number recognition while we are having fun in a bubble bath!
Here are two great ways to have fun during bath time and learn Spanish:
BUBBLES and GAMES: After the bath is full of Johnson & Johnson bubbles, dump a pack of foam numbers and letters into the water. There are a few ways to play the game:
- look for letters in order of the alphabet (or numbers)
- look for vowels
- look for letters of your child’s name
- practice writing words
Here are some easy words that you can start with:
GATO
UNO
DOS
TRES
CUATRO
MONO
MAMI
PAPI
SOL
LUNA
MUSIC: Another fun way to practice Spanish? Play some kids’ songs in Spanish! You can look them up in Youtube or download some kids’ music (some of my favorites are Lucky Diaz Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band and Thalia’s VivaKids).
What other words can you think of? What other fun ways can we learn and practice Spanish during bath time?
