In a few days I will be introducing a special elf into our lives, “El Duende Explorador,” the Elf on the Shelf in Spanish. I’m super excited so I started doing some research (um Hello Pinterest!– You can check out my Pinterest Board for all things Elf on the Shelf here).
I’m excited and a little nervous to do Elf on the Shelf this year but honestly the book in Spanish is what sold me, it is SUPER CUTE! Elf on the Shelf is also a great way to practice vocabulary in Spanish. After you read the book, and every day until Christmas you can ask your children questions in Spanish starting with “Busquemos al duende, ¿dónde piensas que esta hoy el duende?” This will help you practice places in the home (el cuarto, el baño, la cocina, etc.) directions, (arriba, abajo, afuera, etc), furniture (¿Piensas que está encima de la mesa? ¿Atrás de la cama?)
I’ve created a letter in Spanish that explains to your little one what Elf on the Shelf does, and why S/he is visiting your home for the holidays:
I’ve created a template in Spanish with Elf on the Shelf rules for you to download if you want to join in on the fun! Don’t forget the Elf gets here on December 1st, so you have time to order your Elf and get it in time for the holiday season to begin).
If you want your Elf to send notes to your kiddo, or if you want them to send a letter from Papá Noel, I’ve got you covered too:
