Ideas for a Fun and Easy Elmo Birthday Party

Today I’m taking it back to when my son turned 2 and we celebrated with an Easy Elmo Birthday party! Emphasis on Easy!

Being I was working full time and going to grad school, I didn’t want to have to deal with a lot of people at home, decorating, etc. So I found a place where they do it all for you! GYM-AZING in Astoria, NY was great. They were great—the package included three hostesses, bubbles, bouncy house, games, face painting, decorations, pizza and juice for 12 kids. It also had two spaces, one for the games and a private party room for the cake and food. The hostesses were lovely and my kiddo had a ball!

The first thing I did was find a place where the kids could have fun, and where Mama wouldn’t have to worry about planning every single detail… I found a place called

Pizza (included in package)

Elmo and Sesame Street juice boxes

An Elmo Veggie Platter (no, I couldn’t help myself… all because of Pinterest!)
Grape tomatoes, olives, baby carrots and feta cheese

Loot bags

Dollar/discount stores (like Dollar Tree, Family Tree or your local 99 cent store) are great for loot bag ideas! I bought colored cellophane paper and wrapped up each gift.

I had a range of ages, but they mostly consisted of:

a Sesame Street bucket or mini piggy bank

Elmo/Sesame Street coloring books & crayons

Elmo ABC/ number cards

Earth’s Best Cookie Monster Vanilla Cookies

Found these great gift bag tags: here. Thank you to my friend Haath se for making all these downloads FREE!

The mini chocolate wrappers are available here

Cupcakes in place of cake!

I love cupcakes because they are easy to distribute. We got mini cupcakes for little ones and big cupcakes for big ones. I invested in this great cupcake tower which I have used so much, it’s definitely worth it!)
Of course… every birthday party need cupcakes! Minis for  the kids, big ones for the big kids! image

I’d like to give a special shoutout to my friend Randi Klein, aka, Doodlehedz, who trekked from Harlem to Astoria to come take some pics! Enjoy Doodlehedz’s magic!
