5 Reasons Your Kids Should Watch Fireman Sam {and Giveaway}

Fireman Sam has crossed the pond (He is Welsh). He has finally come to America and I’m so excited it is available via Amazon Prime.  I met Fireman Sam while I was in France over the holidays last year. My son enjoyed watching it in French, and now we’re delighted that he can watch the episodes here!

Here are 5 reasons to check out Fireman Sam  on Amazon!

1. Kids will learn fire safety tips. Let’s start with the obvious… this series, created by two firemen, was created to show kids fire safety tips. Every episode has a takeaway that will teach kids

2. Each episode is only 11 minutes long. …Yep, that’s right parents. I don’t know about you, but that makes me happy. It’s perfect for a quick “before bedtime” cartoon those days when you’re too tired to do read a book.

3. It is set in a Welsh city... so this means that the fireman uniforms are different, and that people drive on the other side of the street and other differences. This can be a great time to explain to kids about other cultures, and that it is OK to be different, and that not everyone is like us.

4. There is a woman firefighter. YES! Because girls can be firefighters too.

5. Kids will learn that they need to listen to rules! Norman Price, the main child on the show, is always getting into trouble because he doens’t listen to his mother… perfect teachable moments to teach our kids that if we tell them something, it is because we want to keep them out of harm’s way!

  1. My son watches the show and we talk about a fire truck whenever we see one. He’s too little right now to know about our fire safety plan
